At race start, it was about 70 degrees and rose to 80 by the end. We stopped at 30 character stops, rode Expedition Everest, and crossed the finish line with a margarita and a bowl of nachos, while almost beating the balloon ladies. Adding all the stops added over an hour and a half to our time, so we had to keep a decent pace the rest of the time. As you can see from the photos below, we had a great time.

– Sorcerer Mickey Hat
– Red Robe from Esty
– Shoe covers. I made from brown felt, hot glue, and an elastic band.
– Mickey gloves
– Flipbelt to carry everything. An absolute must! I actually wore two. One for my phone and wallet. Another for fuel and to tuck the hat and gloves in while I ran.
Performance:
Running a marathon in long sleeves and leggings isn’t optimal, but doable considering they are supposedly cooling material. Let’s face it, it’s not as cooling as not wearing a layer of black in Florida.
Post-Race Review
I was pretty happy with how it turned out. There’s not a whole lot I would have changed. I chose to wear the leggings because I feel like the costume is half-done if you don’t do anything from the waist down. I fell behind early on hydration, but caught up later.
